No. CBD products are derived from the Hemp plant, which contains less than .3 percent THC. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive in marijuana, which causes the “high” feeling that it’s known for. Marijuana plants intended for recreational use typically contain between 10 percent and 20 percent THC.
There are many differences between CBD and marijuana products, but the most significant difference is their breeding, based upon the intended use. CBD products are derived from Hemp, which contains less than .3 percent of THC – the psychoactive in marijuana that causes the “high” feeling. Cannabinoids (sometimes called phytocannabinoids) are a group of active compounds found in marijuana and hemp plants. The four most common cannabinoids are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), and Cannabigerol (CBG). THC and CBN have psychoactive effects that cause a “high” feeling when ingested in large percentages.
