Delta 8 THC is a powerful cannabinoid native to the cannabis flower. Delta-8-THC is an isomer of CBD, which is a derivative of hemp and CBD, a cannabinoid found in hemp, and is found in our products with less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC. In other words, Delta 8 THC is sort of a middle ground between hemp, CBD and THC-Delta-9.
According to The National Cancer Institute, Delta-8 THC is defined as “an analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties.” They also stated that “this agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9-THC), the primary form of THC found in cannabis.”
In layman’s terms, the technical name for THC (you know, the thing that intoxicates you when you consume cannabis) is Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol. While Delta 8 THC may share the “THC,” it is a completely different chemical that creates an entirely unique profile that has puzzled the hemp industry over the past few years. Though Delta 8 is less abundantly found in cannabis plants compared to delta 9 THC, selective breeding and molecular isolation are some methods used to extract this unique concentrate.
Our Delta-8 THC products are derived from the hemp plant and CBD, which is a cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. The National Cancer Institute defines Delta 8 THC as “an analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol with… appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties”.
We have to warn you, Delta 8 is by no means CBD. Its effects are familiar to Delta 9 but without headiness and a milder sensation that is completely different from Delta 9. When you consume CBD with THC content under .3%, you do get a unique feeling that only CBD has to offer. The same can be said about Delta 8 but it’s effects are completely different than CBD. Although every person is different, we can say that most people have an uplifting feeling with a relaxing body sensation. Always assess your personal ability to handle Delta 8 THC before consuming large quantities.
Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to discuss the uses that have been found for Delta 8 but we encourage you to do the research as even the National Cancer Institute Drug Dictionary recognizes that delta-8-THC has multiple promising effects.
